Ari's DI2 Meivici in the Works

Serotta took a few snap shots of Ari's frame during production. His frame is set up specifically for Shimano's DI2 system. There is internal routing for the wiring and the battery mount was placed neatly on the left chainstay. There are other options for the location of the battery but under the chainstay keeps it looking clean. There are a lot of things we weren't allowed to show here but we have some of the basics.

Here is a step where the lugs are machined after the molding process. Yes machined carbon! The unique multi-layer carbon lugs allow the carbon to be precision machined so that the tubing will be aligned with perfect precision. This was as close as was allowed for photos.

Here is the tubing after the mitering process. The tubes and lugs are cut so precisely when joined they fit together so well the frame seems solid before it's even bonded and finished. The tubing Serotta makes is absolutely the most durable in the bike industry. It's also rider specific and has an incredibly balanced ride character.

Here is the frame with DI2 battery mount drilling. Look closely at the left stay. On the right is where the wiring for the derailleur comes out.

Here is the Headtube with the DI2 routing

Getting there! That frame jig you see here could be older than some of you! Frame alignment is nothing short of perfect every time.

During the paint process. Serotta paint is among the best in the world. They pay a lot of attention to their environmental impact as well.

We'll have some photos very soon of the finished project. The frame just arrived and I think Ari needs to build this thing up! Stay tuned.
