A Thank You Letter to LifeCycle Participants

Now that most of everyone is back from the 2011 LifeCycle ride, we thought we would say thank you. Thank you all for supporting us! Every year we see a lot of familiar faces and friends who do the ride year after year. We meet a lot of new people every year too. Some of you are seasoned, veteran cyclists and some of you had no idea what you were in for. No matter how you slice it, you all rose to the physical, mental and, let’s face it, financial challenges that face every participant. That is impressive.

As part of the cycling community in the Bay Area, we meet and work with very likely the most diverse group of cyclists in the world. We come from different places; we have different careers, political views and lifestyles. This diversity makes our work that much more interesting. LifeCycle participants are a welcome part of this diversity within our sport. This simply makes the bike world better.

We would like to thank you for being so incredibly supportive of us (seriously), for always being in a good mood when you come to our shop, for doing something that matters, for encouraging other cyclists to do the ride and for supporting each other.

I’ve never done the ride, someday I will for sure. It never ceases to amaze me how cycling can bring people together, inspire people and serve as not just a vehicle in a practical sense but as a vehicle for change. So here’s to you all, you rock!
