Some Recent Bikes

Here are a few photos of some recent projects here at Bespoke.

This is Stef's new Retrotec. Retrotec is built by Curtis Inglis of Inglis Cycles in Napa. Curtis is one of the best steel builders out there, he does lugged frames, tig and fillet brazing. Curtis has been building frames for far longer than most of the other "boutique" steel guys out there. Curtis also builds more traditional straight tube bikes under the Inglis Cycles line. Curtis builds road, mountain, cyclocross, touring and about any other configuration out there. This is a 29r mountain bike. The fork is suspension corrected to allow for installation of a new suspension fork down the road. The bottom bracket is a Phil Wood Eccentric so the bike can be run as a geared or single speed set up. I have a similar bike and even though it's definitely a work of art, these bikes are extremely capable machines. This is no mantle piece, it's meant to be ridden!

This is a Serotta Meivici. I've been lusting after this frame for years now and I finally pulled the trigger. Full custom carbon with Campy Super Record and my old Reynolds MV32 wheels. This bike is truly amazing, the drive train response is simply incredible and it handles remarkably well. A few years ago I decided not to buy bikes with the anticipation of selling them every couple of years. This bike was built for me by cyclists who I know and respect as craftsmen
and it's absolutely perfect. This is not a disposable cookie cutter carbon bike, this is functional art and it climbs like nothing I've ever ridden before. The high speed handling is just inspiring, it holds a line even on dirt roads and yet it's quite agile. 20 years from now, I'll get on this bike and I'll smile just like I do today, worth every penny!

This is a Parlee Z5, a 14.75 pound Z5! We built it with pretty standard parts, Dura Ace, Reynolds DV 46 clincher wheels and alloy seat post, bar and stem. There are no crazy light, non-functional components here, just durable, reliable equipment. This bike is one of Parlee's stock bikes, they come in 5 sizes with the option of a short and tall in each size effectively giving us 10 sizes to work with. This frame has a tapered head tube, carbon drop-outs and a BB30 bottom bracket. This is an extremely light weight frame and is nothing less that a rocket ship with pedals. Parlee has come up with yet another stunner with the Z5, no swoopy tubes or techno-jargon here just straight to the point, efficient use of carbon and impeccable geometry. Thanks guys, now I've got another bike on my Christmas list!
